Kid Konnection: Man Gave Names to All the Animals
Artist Jim Arnosky has created a lovely picture book with the lyrics of Bob Dylan’s song, Man Gave Names to All the Animals. As you can tell by the dust jacket, Arnosky’s illustrations are gorgeous and include over 170 animals. (The actual cover features the head of a tiger on the front and butterflies on the back.) The animals included are listed in the back and I suspect young children will enjoy trying to identify the animals on the pages. If you need help there’s an answer key on Arnosky’s web site. Also included is a CD of Dylan singing his song and, with its catchy tune, I think children will enjoy singing along – I know I did! This would make a great gift for any young animal lover.

I thought this book was lovely too. And the CD was a great bonus.
I’ve been hearing about this book. I can think of a few non-young (or young-at-heart) friends that would enjoy this as well!
This one seems like a fun read and I will be on the look out with the wee one sitting front center for the wild animals in the book
I thought this book was beautiful and Booking Son loved the CD.
This would make a wonderful gift, with the CD and all. It looks lovely!
Wow! This does sound gorgeous!
Looks like this would make a wonderful gift for the holidays!
Wow, looks so cute!
This one looks like one my son will like (his first name’s Dylan, which will make it even more fun for him!). I find he selects books based on the art work, and something as gorgeous as this will be sure to have him sitting down paging through it for hours. And he’ll want to listen to the CD when he goes to bed
This one looks like one santa will be bringing Ava this year
thank you for this wonderful suggestion, I always give books as gifts, and this Christmas will be no exception. I’ll be checking this one out.
This sounds adorable! I’ll have to check it out for my nieces and nephews.
Oh, I love Dylan and would love the chance to get a look at this book! I bet it would be the perfect gift for a friend of mine who has young children who are into music as well. Thanks for bringing this book to my attention, I appreciated this review very much!
I grew up listening to Dylan, so I might buy this for myself (my daughter is in college and my nephew is in his twenties). If the cover is any indication, the illustrations promise to be wonderful. Thanks for this review!
This sounds great – what a perfect Christmas gift.
Sounds like a gorgeous book and I love that it comes with a CD, too.
This is going on my list for my five-year-old granddaughter. I think she’ll love the book, cd, and the video.
This could be a potential present for my niece and nephew!
Oh, I do love myself some Bob Dylan!!:O)
For Bob Dylan?? the Bob Dylan? Love the cover, must check out the book
