Mailbox Monday
October 25, 2010
Not only are the weeks flying by, but the months are too. I can’t believe it’s the last Monday of October. Since it’s Monday, it’s time to see what books came last week. Mailbox Monday was created by Marcia of The Printed Page and is being hosted by Avis of She Reads and Reads for the month of October. Here’s what showed up at my house:
Monday
- On Maggie’s Watch by Ann Wertz Garvin came from Penguin Books
- The Peanuts Collection by Nat Gertler came from Hachette Books
- Clinton St. Baking Company Cookbook by DeDe Lahman & Neil Kleinberg came from Hachette Books
- Little Princes by Conor Grennan came from William Morrow
Tuesday
- I Love Bacon! by Jayne Rockmill came from Andrews McMeel Publishing

Kathy you got some good books last week. Your mailbox was quiet wasn’t it. Enjoy your books and as always looking forward to your reviews.
oh don’t say that–the last Monday in October? Sigh. Enjoy your books Kathy!!
Nice mix of books! I love the Peanuts gang – enjoy!
On Maggie’s Watch sounds good. Enjoy your new books!
As a bacon lover, I am convince that is probably going to be a very good book!
Nice list of books…I’m jealous of the Peanuts book…that would be right up my alley!
Okay, we’re curious about I Love Bacon. Is it a cookbook? A mystery? A romance?
I got bills in the mailbox this past week.
Enjoy your new books! I’m wondering what that bacon book is all about because I love bacon too! lol
Just think…Christmas is only 2 months away!!!! Yikes!
I had such a slow week last week, but they did talk about a strike
I am in love with bacon, and think that your bacon book looks fabulous! My husband loves it too, and is always pointing out new recipes where bacon plays a central role. I have even tried a chocolate bacon bar, which was weird, but wonderful, and came across a recipe for bacon cups filled with eggs. This conversation is making me hungry, so please excuse me while I go find some bacon!
For some reason I am gravitating towards the baking and the bacon.
On Maggie’s Watch looks really interesting! Enjoy!!
Can’t wait to hear about the Bacon book!
We adore bacon here! They had chocolate covered bacon at our state fair. I didn’t try it but I was very tempted. Little Princes and the cookbook look good also. Enjoy!
Ooh, I’m looking forward to Little Princes. I hope you like it!
Mmm…bacon
Love it! The Peanuts book sounds good, too. I still peruse the comic strips for a piece of Charles Schulz’s wisdom.
I Love Bacon looks like fun! And I love the spine of Little Princes. I’d pick it up just for that!
Last week I ended up with two ARCs I cannot wait to read: The Distant Hours by Kate Morton and American Rose by Karen Abbott.
These are all new titles to me, but they look really good! Enjoy!
Well, who doesn’t love bacon? Can’t wait to hear what you think of The Little Princes. Not a bad week sounds like you’ll have some fun reading ahead of you. Lucky girl.
Thinking I need to get my youngest “I Love Bacon”, its a joke in our house about how much bacon he eats.
CMash
Looks like a great stack. I need to get the bacon book, too. My family would love it.
I am loving the Peanuts Collection!
Great mailbox! All sounds good
Enjoy your books!
I received the Clinton Street Baking book too (but forgot to include on the list). I am looking forward to making some of the recipes, but word of caustion if you try to make the Carmelized Applesauce don’t cook it on high (despite what it says). I did that and badly scorched my pan.
Enjoy all your books!
Another nice stack of books for you this week.
Clinton Street Baking looks good. I’m looking forward to those reviews. I got the Peanuts book a couple weeks ago and bumped it to the top of my pile. I’ve already read through it twice… what fun… since I’m the age and target market for the book!
Oooh, Peanuts! I’d love to get that one.
Unique books, like the Peanut one.
Nice mix of books this week, Kathy. Everything from soup (maybe–cookbooks) to nuts (Peanuts)! Enjoy them all!
How could you possibly go wrong with a book titled “I Love Bacon”? I’m so interested to hear your thoughts on that one.
A smaller pile than usual! Can’t say I share others’ enthusiasm for the bacon book, but then I’m a vegetarian. Enjoy all your books!
I Love Bacon title has me now doing that Beggin’ Strips commercial in my head!! Geesh!!
Enjoy your books!
Those sounds like great books. Mine are here.

These are all new to me books! Happy reading, Kathy!
