Mailbox Monday
October 11, 2010
When I was a kid, my mom used to tell me the older you get, the faster time flies. At the time, I thought she was crazy, but now I know exactly what she meant. I can’t believe it’s Monday again! That means it’s time for Mailbox Monday. Mailbox Monday was created by Marcia of The Printed Page and Avis of She Reads and Reads will be the host for the month of October. Another wonderful stack of books.
ENJOY, and yes time does fly…yikes….off to work I go.
You always have such a great post for Monday Mailbox. So many goodies to look forward to!
I don’t want time to pass any quicker! Slow down. Great mail box. I wonder where you put them all.
I’m jealous of Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk, but it is waiting for me at the library so I can’t complain. (I only got a Travel Guide this week, I’ve stopped entering giveaways and making ARC requests).
The Five Ingredient Fix sure looks like it could be useful during these busy fall days! Lots of great titles!
With all the cookbooks you must be cooking up a storm. What time is dinner? LOL
This is a great stack of books! The Cookbook Collector looks great — can’t wait to get your thoughts on that one!
I know what you mean about time flying! I turn around and it’s Monday again! All your new additions look wonderful and I am looking forward to hearing what you think of the new Sedaris. I also got the two Elizabeth Jolley books, and I am looking forward to them. I reviewed her other book, The Vera Wright Trilogy a few months ago and thought it was really intriguing. She definitely knows how to push the envelope! Have a great week, Kathy!
Looking forward to your review of the new Steve Martin book – might be a good one for my husband for Christmas. He’s such a big fan.
5 Ingredient Fix was in my mailbox. Can’t wait to try a recipe or two!
Hope Jon Stewart’s Earth is as funny as America. On audiobook, he’ll probably add that charming sarcastic droll we’ve all come to know & love
D
Another wonderful mailbox for you. And you got that Jon Stewart book. I can’t wait to read that one.
As for time speeding up… I feel it too. I read an article somewhere that said it has to do with perception. When you’re only 10 yo one year is 10% of your life and seems like forever. As you age, each year is a lesser percent of your life and feels like it passes quicker. Sounds good to me. The weekend went by in a flash!
You received The Cookbook Collector??? Wow! I would love to read that one. I like the other books too. That one sorta stuck out.:)
I hope you enjoy your books
I want to read Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk. It looks interesting.
I know what you mean, Kathy. Is it Mailbox Monday again?!
Wow! You had a great week of books, although many of these titles are new-to-me. Enjoy!
Wow! What a great week for your mailbox!
Those sound good. I only got one book last week. Enjoy your books.
My mom says the same thing and now that I am 47 I know exactly what she means! Enjoy your latest acquisitions.
You always get so many books! Have fun cracking the spines.
Looking forward to everyone’s thoughts on 5 Ingredient Fix. It was in quite a few mailboxes. Always looking for simple but tasty recipes.
Kathy you had another awesome week. You got some great books that I have to say I am a little jealous over LOL
I know what you mean about the time. I remember as a kid thinking how slow the time would pass and then once you are much older its gone in a blink of an eye. I can’t believe its already Monday.
Happy Columbus Day to you.
I hear you on the Mondays…. every time I turn around! LOL
What a great variety of books!
Your mailbox is always hopping!!
Enjoy!
Wow, what a great list. Enjoy!
Girlfriend… admit it you’ve got the mailman in your pocket. Admit it… he loves you!
I’m going to take a peak at Late at School by Steve Martin. I did a double take and clicked the book and sure enough it is Steve Martin, SNL actor/ comedian.
Love the cover for Late at School.
Wow! What a great stash!
Good heavens, girl! That is quite the haul this week.
Wow, another great week. Enjoy all your books. Most are new to me.
You get so many amazing books! By the way, I was excited to see you and Milou on Coffee with a Canine!!
I think I envy your Thursday the most! “Earth” AND “Squirrel Meets Chipmunk”? SCORE!
Great mailbox! I wish I’d scored a copy of 5-minute fix. Enjoy!!
You have a major pile there!!! Enjoy the whole lot.
awesome, gorgeous books. Hope you enjoy all
I think the only time that time flies when you’re a kid is during the summer. All it takes is a blink and school is starting all over again! Happy reading.
You always have such a full mailbox. I wonder how you keep up with reviews.
You had a great week!
Whew….another big week for you! Enjoy all of your books
Wow, that’s a lot of books for one week! Enjoy!
I agree with time flying. I wish I could go back to my childhood years! You got some great books – Enjoy!
I have finally figured this out…you are a book magnet…good books just gravitate to you…have a lovely time reading them…
Wow – that’s a lot of books! Hope you enjoy them.
Oooooh… time flies! I can’t believe it’s Wednesday already. You have a great mailbox there. Happy reading, Kathy!
Are there enough hours in the day to read all the books you get?
looks like you got some great books. enjoy them
look at all those books- how fun!
It’s stunning to me how fast time flies. Last week my daughter started middle school and just today she’s in her second year of college. Where did all that time go. Good thing there are great books to fill in the gaps.
I’m totally jealous of your Mailbox Monday Stack but I’ll try hard to let it show because I love your blog.
Happy Reading!!
