Spotlight on Bookstores
October 6, 2010
When we visited Carl’s family over the summer, I fell in love with a wonderful new bookstore near them. Over the Moon Books is located in downtown Crozet, Virginia and I felt at home as soon as I walked in the door. If you want to read (and see) more about it, head over to She Is Too Fond of Books to see the post I wrote for her Spotlight on Bookstores feature.

I love walking into a bookstore and feeling like that!
I haven’t seen any independent bookstore in the area I live. It’s delightful to see that, besides the same old big chains like Border and Barnes & Noble, there are quaint, unique independently operated bookstores.
Looks like a fantastic bookstore. Hope you have the opportunity to enjoy it more in the future.
I’m off to check it out!
I took a look at your other post, Kathy. Very nice! I’d love to spend some time reading and browsing there.

Oh I read that piece on Shelf Awareness about Over the Moon! Wow what neat pictures you got and a superb article you wrote! I love going on independent bookstore tours…one of my very favorite things to do and I can just imagine the sisters being competitive to just jump out and grab you for conversation, especially once they discovered how knowledgeable you are!
I do make it to Charlottesville on occasion and will also share with folks that I know in the area. Thanks.
What a wonderful post!! I absolutely love independent bookstores. There is one in North Florida in Neptune Beach that is 8 minutes from me and I love going in there and supporting them.
Ooh! heading on over to check out that post. Thanks!
I enjoyed the Over The Moon bookstore. It does seem very inviting like they want you to come in and browse around. Thanks for sharing the bookstore.
Thanks so much for shining the Spotlight on Over the Moon Books, Kathy! The pictures are fantastic, they really give us a feel for the shop, and I love your description of the sisters “competing” to welcome you to the bookshop/gallery.
Great pictures and I could live in a bookstore forever. Just plop me down in a library somewhere and I am in heaven.
Off to check out the post…
