BBAW: First Treasure

There are lots of blogs out there that I love for all sorts of reasons, so I usually hesitate to spotlight them for fear of leaving one out.  I’ve decided to bend the rules today, though, and spotlight the first two book blogs I discovered.

The Book Lady’s Blog – I discovered Rebecca’s blog right after I’d started my own.  (It had a different name at the time, but that’s a story for another day. )   My blog wasn’t a book blog at the time and I loved the idea of a blog all about books and wondered why I hadn’t thought of that myself!  Rebecca is smart, funny and irreverent and she will do just about anything to promote the books she loves.  She’s become a mover and a shaker in the book blogging community and over two years later, she’s kept me coming back for more because her reviews are top notch.

Booking Mama – Julie’s blog was the second book blog I discovered and she’s become a good friend of mine over the last two years.  We have similar tastes in books, so I know to trust her recommendations.  I love her reviews because she writes about the way the book made her feel.  Julie amazes me at the number and variety of books she reads.   We share books and talk just about every day and no matter what topic we start off with, it seems our conversations always come back around to books.

While these two blogs were my first treasures, they’re certainly not my only treasures and I’m sure they won’t be my last.  For me, the best part of Book Blogger Appreciation Week is discovering new blogs, so I’m really looking forward to reading everyone else’s posts today.

This is the first time I’ve been involved in BBAW. Your blog is the first one I saw this morning with the treasure chest on it. I love that label for this celebration. I haven’t looked at your two choices yet. Will do because I can’t wait to see if these two are a couple of the many I love too. Enjoyed your comments. Enjoy BBAW!

Oh my goodness, I’ve made a terrible mistake. Ted was my father’s name. I’ve been thinking of him a lot lately. So much that I wrote his name instead of Tea. I’m sorry.

And I would like to tell you how much I enjoy your blog. You’ve given me a lot of insight into books and authors, and I’ve really enjoyed the videos of book signings you’ve been to. Thanks for the time you put into reading and blogging.

What I’m really curious about is your original blog and the original name!! I’d love to know how you got started blogging. :)

Isn’t it neat how other bloggers have influenced us? The very first blogger I encountered was Caribousmom and what a fantastic blogger to look up to.

Two excellent choices – both are favorites of mine as well! I’m impressed that you still recall the very first book blogs you found – at this point, I have no idea what mine were. But I always remember that I met you when we were paired for interviews during the first year of BBAW :-) .
