Mailbox Monday
August 15, 2010
Yes, I know it’s Sunday – I’m posting a day early since I’m participating in a book tour tomorrow, and I don’t want to miss out on this fun meme. Mailbox Monday was created by Marcia of The Printed Page and is now going on tour – the host for this month is Chick Loves Lit – click over there if you want to join in the fun or see who else is participating this week. - Remedies by Kate Ledger came from Penguin Books
- Bad Marie by Marcy Dermansky came from Harper Collins
- Earth and Ashes by Atiq Rahimi came from Other Press
Tuesday
- Starting From Scratch by Susan Gilbert-Collins came from Planned Television Arts
Thursday
- Nanny McPhee Returns by Emma Thompson came from Big Honcho Media
Friday

Some interesting titles. The Blessings of the Animals was in my mailbox too.
You needed to post early because of your abundant mailbox. Lol
I’m curious about The Blessings of the Animals, so I look forward to reading your post on it.
Too funny! I was like — it’s Sunday! I think you got some great books. I’ve heard good things about quite a few of them.
I, like Julie, had a moment of panic there! And I too am really interested in The Blessings of the Animals – can’t wait to hear your take on it!
The Blessings of the Animals interest me. We have a festival called Maatu Pongal in honor of cattle. Cattle on this day are decorated, fed special mixtures, and garlanded.
I also like to see what Nanny McPhee returns is about. You’ve got a huge haul . Enjoy.
Wow, great mailbox, Kathy! I think Stiltsville is going to be huge.
That is a lot of books for one week! Great selection!
ok, good to know I was not the only one thrown by that Sunday/Monday thing. ‘Cause if it’s Monday, I should be at work!
You got a lot of great books last week, but “Remedies” by Kate Ledger especially caught my eye!
Looks like an exciting bunch of books. I got Starting From Scratch this week, too. It looks excellent! I keep seeing the cover of Stiltsville around, but I haven’t read a review yet. Looking forward to reading your thoughts!
I like the sound of the Katrina Kittle book; enjoy them all.
I hope you enjoy your new books, Kathy. I have Safe From the Sea to read too. It looks like it will be a good one.
NOW that’s what I call LOOT! How do you do it woman. Stiltsville caught my eye so will be back to see your review.
Posting mine tomorrow … today is dedicated to catching up on fave blogs and hey had to stop by.
A fun bunch of books there! It must be like Christmas every day in your mailbox.
Mine is only occasionally like that, but when it is I do the happy dance.
Half the time I don’t know what day it is anyway, so no worries. I really want to read Bad Marie. As I’ve been telling Nicole, I had about three nights of dreams that included Bad Marie who was bullying me.
I’ve been out of the loop for awhile this summer with new books and see that you got some great looking titles. I’m looking forward to your reviews.
Wednesday….and this is my very first post to Mailbox Monday…I am excited.
Received four books from http://www.bookarmy.com for my review of Lady of the Butterflies by Fiona Mountain.
Never heard of any of them, but here they are:
The Devil’s Acre by Matthew Plampin
Obstacles to Young Love by David Nobbs
The Eleventh Plague by Darren Craske
Bob Marley The Untold Story by Chris Salewicz
Another week’s delivery of interesting books.

Stilsville has me intrigued, look forward to your review.
Enjoy all your new books. I always like stopping by and seeing what you received. Happy Reading!
I’m so interested in Siobhan’s next book — she’s a wonderful woman.
Oh, I hope you enjoy The Blessings of the Animals! It was a really good read that caught me up rather quickly. I am also on the Stiltsville tour and am hoping that I like the book. I will be interested in hearing what you think of it! Have a great week!
I keep seeing the previews for Nanny McPhee returns. I didn’t see the first one and I don’t think I’ll be seeing this one either. My son is terrified of her!
I’ve heard really good things about Bad Marie….looking forward to your thoughts on it!
Great mailbox as always!
Good reads – a variety of books and a few titles that are new to me. I feel like I have been so busy lately I am missing out on hearing about some of these books. Enjoy them!
Wicked, have some gr8 books! Have a gr8 week ahead
Your mailbox is as smokin’ as ever! Enjoy. I didn’t know about some of those books….nice to get a preview.
Lots of great books as usual! I am interested in The Blessings of Animals as I certainly agree with the title!
Great mailbox! I love the cover of Stiltsville.
Great mailbox! Safe From the Sea is on my wishlist. Happy reading and thanks for visiting my mailbox!
Looks like you got some great books, and we have Safe from the Sea by Peter Geye in common…I received that a bit ago. Happy reading
I just ordered a copy of Remedies – I love this meme!
Hope you have a great week, Mari

here’s mine!
Ah, the bliss of a FULL mailbox! And when you stack them up the way you do, it reminds me of Christmas.
Hope you enjoy them all, and thanks for visiting my blog.
Bad Marie is a little spooky to me
Hope you enjoy your loot!
I like how you broke it down day by day. Quite a haul!!

I can’t wait for your review of Stiltsville. I was going to ask to be on the tour, but I have so much going on these days I don’t know if I’m coming or going! Enjoy your new books!
Great stuff Kathy. I’d love to read the Katrina Kittle book. She’s a great writer.
Ohhhh! Not that Kind of Girl. I’m interested to see how you like that one.
Enjoy them all!
You always get such a great stack of books every week! Lucky you!
Your mailbox is always so interesting, Kathy. Looking at all those titles is making me drool. I’m trying very hard not to buy any more books and haven’t been able to participate in any book giveaways lately too.
