Clear Off Your Shelves Challenge Completed!
I can’t believe it! I’ve completed another challenge! (This is just my second time actually completing a challenge, so I’m feeling pretty flush.) The Clear Off Your Shelves Challenge was hosted by Swapna and ran from October 1 to November 30. The goal was to read “any non-review books that are on your shelves and/or review copies that have been on your shelves for over six months.” Participants picked a percentage of books to fit that criteria and like the sissy that I am, I signed up for the minimum – 20%. Here’s what I read during this challenge (I’ve put asterisks by those that count toward the challenge):
- Stitches by David Small
- Tell Me Something True by Leila Cobo
- A Season of Gifts by Richard Peck
- Undead and Unreturnable by Mary Janice Davidson (audio book)*
- Labor Day by Joyce Maynard
- The Unquiet by John Connolly (audio book)*
- The Unlikely Disciple by Kevin Roose*
- Nine Dragons by Michael Connelly
- Willow by Julia Hoban*
- Angels by Chuck Fischer
- Permissions Slips by Sherri Shepherd
- Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris*
- Family Sentence: The Search for My Cuban-Revolutionary, Prison-Yard, Mythic-Hero, Deadbeat Dad by Jeanine Cornillot
- One Hundred Butterflies by Harold Feinstein
- The Magicians by Lev Grossman
- Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret. by Judy Blume*
- Sunflowers by Sheramy Bundrick
- All-of-a-Kind Family by Sydney Taylor*
- I Have My Mother’s Eyes by Barbara Ruth Bluman
- Everything Sucks by Hannah Friedman
- The Christmas Cookie Club by Ann Pearlman
- A Christmas Ride: The Miracle of Lights by Edie Hand with Jeffrey Addison
- Got the Look by James Grippando (audio book)*
- New Tricks by David Rosenfelt
- Witch & Wizard by James Patterson and Gabrielle Charbonnet
- Homer’s Odyssey by Gwen Cooper
- Wishin’ and Hopin’ by Wally Lamb*
- The Wife’s Tale by Lori Lansens
- French Milk by Lucy Knisley*
- The Body in the Sleigh by Katherine Hall Page
- In the Beginning: The Art of Genesis by Chuck Fischer
Out of 31 books read during October and November, 10 qualify for this challenge, which gives me 32%, so I exceeded my goal! I think this calls for a book buying celebration.

Congrats on finishing the challenge!
Good job! I’m doing an unofficial clearing of the shelves, but didn’t join the challenge. I didn’t think of calculating it as a percentage, though–what a great idea.
Congratulations on another challenge completed! 32% is great
I’m working on my fourth & fifth challenge of the year. I think both will come down to the wire.
