August 10, 2009
A big thanks to Marcia of The Printed Page for hosting this fun meme. Check out her blog to see what everyone else got last week or to play along. This is what I found in my mailbox last week (this does not include Saturday, since we left then for a quick visit to see my parents):
Monday
- Inglorious Basterds by Quentin Tarantino from Hachette Books
- The Puzzle King by Betsy Carter from Algonquin Books
- Trust Me by Peter Leonard from FSB Associates
- A Teenager in Hitler’s Death Camps by Benny Grünfeld from BenBella Books
What books came into your home last week?

A Teenager in Hitler’s Death Camps looks so good. So do the other books for that matter.
I hope I can get hub to take me to the movies for Inglorious Basterds. I don’t want to wait for it to be on DVD.
I cannot wait to read THE PUZZLE KING!
All sound great reads. Happy reading!
Mondays: Musings/Whereabouts
A Teenager in Hitler’s Death Camps by Benny Grünfeld would be great for the WWII challenge I suspect! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts.
Happy reading.
A Teenager in Hitler’s Death Camps sounds good. Look forward to your review!
The Puzzle King looks good to me. How did you like The Seamstress? I saw you were reading it a while back.
Have a great week and enjoy your new books. My MM is here
I got The Puzzle King as well. Love the cover on it.
Well, these look interesting. All new to me titles. Enjoy Kathy!
Good stuff Kathy. Seems like everyone is getting The Puzzle King. Doesn’t sound like my kind of book but I’m curious to see some reviews. Happy Reading.
Boy, that’s my kind of mailbox!
Happy reading!

Great mailbox. I’ve added two of them to my list!
I think it’s great you got a copy of Inglorious Bastards, I’d read it!
Lucky, lucky you to get “Inglorious Basterds” – I always enjoy reading Tarantino’s screenplays. Looking forward to seeing this one on the big screen, too.
That’s quite the variety of reading you’ve got there. I saw my son reading the Tarentino title recently, I hope you enjoy it. I want to know what you thought of The Seamstress too since I really liked it. Take care.
We got some of the same ones this week!
Oh man, I didn’t realize that Inglorious Basterds was a book. Hubs saw Harry Potter so I’m getting dragged along to see I.B. Fun! Gore…oi.
The Puzzle King has definitely caught my interest. A Teenager in Hitlers Death Camps must be quite a heavy read. Can’t wait to hear more.
A Teenager in Hitler’s Death Camps should be interesting!

These all look great Kathy…especially a Teenager in Hitler’s Death Camps.
The movie “Inglorious Bastards” looks a little violent. I wonder how the book is? Although given that it’s Tarantino, I wouldn’t eat anything before reading it! I agree with several other bloggers that A Teenager in Hitler’s Death Camps is probably very good but sad.
Enjoy – Oh! and those cookies look wonderful! I will be making them soon! Thank you!
Amy
The Puzzle King sounds like a book that I would like and will add it to the wishlist. A Teenager in Hitler’s Death Camps sounds like a challenging read and I’ll be interested in your review.
Those sound great!! That Tarantino book will probably be really gruesome!!!
A Teenager in Hitler’s Death Camps — haven’t heard of it, but that’s a grabber. I’ll have to look it up.
I am so intregued by A Teenager in Hitler’s Death Camps! I haven’t heard of it before.
Great Mailbox. Puzzle King is getting bumped on my list for sure.
What can I say. All look good to me
You have a bit of a theme there! I didn’t realize that Quentin Terantino wrote the book that the movie is based on. I just saw a preview for it this morning before work as a matter of fact.
Are you planning on going to see the movie to see how it compares?
I’ve got The Puzzle King too- looking forward to reading it after vacation!
What a terrific stack of books this week! Happy reading, you can see my mailbox here. I’m a little slow checking out everyone’s mailbox this week!
Good stuff in your mailbox Kathy! Hope you enjoy them!!

I’m interested in seeing “Inglorious Basterds” — I’m a huge Quentin Tarantino fan.
