451 Fridays
April 10, 2009
Elizabeth, at As Usual, I Need More Bookshelves has a great feature called 451 Fridays. For this feature, she’s asking people what 5 books they would save. When she invited me to participate, I was thrilled. Well, the assignment turned out to be much tougher than I anticipated, but it was a lot of fun. We went to visit Vance last weekend and I brought up this question and we had some great discussions with Vance and his roommates. If you want to know what books I selected, go check out Elizabeth’s blog.

That would be hard – picking just 5 books. You had great choices.
Ooh, good answers! And I like that I had to link over to another book blog to see them. I added Elizabeth’s blog to my Google Reader.
5 books…that is very hard. but I must check out your picks.
and speaking of comments, …I have given you An Award on my blog! yes indeed! So stop by and check it out if you would.
Heading off now. Mine doesn’t appear for a while but I’ve already written it.
that’s a tough question!
This would be a hard challenge. I commented at Elizabeth’s blog.
very tough question! and as much as I love A Tale of Two Cities, I can’t imagine having to memorize it and become it. You picked a terrific top 5.
Good list. Not sure I want to limit myself to five. I’d have to think about it for a while…
Kathy, I don’t envy you your assignment. That’s really hard. I appreciate that your choices are socially conscientious and well-rounded.
Kathy, those are all great picks. I think I would have cheated by selecting “The Collected Works of …” five great authors. The Grapes of Wrath would probably be interesting to re-read in light of the economic mess we’re in.
I have no idea what I would pick. I’ll have to think about it!
great choices! Tale of Two Cities isn’t one I would have thought of, but it’s a terrific selection.
Ooooh…I love 451 Fridays. I’ll have to check out your post. I’ll leave you a comment there!
Great choices! Of those 5, I think I’d “become” To Kill a Mockingbird.
And Elizabeth is right…you are the best commenter in the blogiverse!
I’m so glad you participated – thank you!
Great picks!
